Van der Mark to miss Misano test with a fractured leg
The BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team are due to test at Misano this week but only Scott Redding will be on track for the factory BMW squad
Teams and riders will head to the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” for testing later on this week, including the BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team. However, they will only be on track with Scott Redding as Dutchman Michael van der Mark will miss the two-day test after a training accident where he fractured his leg.
Van der Mark was out mountain biking as part of his training regime last Sunday when he fell and fractured his leg. Due to this, he will not take part in the test at Misano this week and his return to a motorcycle will be determined by his treatment in the next few days. Motorrad Motorsport Director Marc Bongers said: “The treatment progress over the next few days will show when Michael will be able to get back on the motorbike. We are in close contact with Michael and wish him a speedy recovery.”
